THE Chinese Government has offered to send its astronauts to Malaysia to share their knowledge, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis said.
He added the Chinese astronauts would be giving talks to schoolchildren.
He said the second Malaysian astronaut Mejar Dr Faiz Khaleed, who was injured during a robbery last month, would recover fully in time for his mission.
“He has just been released from hospital and is undergoing physiotherapy on his left hand.
“The offer to send another Malaysian into space is by 2010 or 2011, so there’s a lot of time for Dr Faiz to recover,” he told Datuk Seri Raja Ahmad Zainuddin Raja Omar (BN – Larut).
“Dr Faiz may be asked to conduct space-walk assignments, since Nasa (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has told me that he has the ability to conduct space walks,” he added.
